The feeling you get right before making the decision to publish something is special. There is a mixture of feelings ranging from excitement, optimistic, vulnerable, and doubt. All of those feelings are what I experience whether it is performing or recording a new song, releasing a new book, or making a website public for the first time. No matter what the feelings are it comes back to the reason you are doing something, and they are just feelings. The creative process has entered a new phase and there are bound to be emotions that accompany the completion of one to the initiation of the next phase. Setting up a website has probably been something I needed to do a while ago but didn’t realize how to do it or conceptualize how it can benefit me. For too long I have been using social media apps and sites to share my various creations, starting with zippy tweets on X, to pictures on Instagram, to music on YouTube, and even exercises on Strava. There are more like reviews on Yelp, and some that didn’t make it. That’s not to say that this blog will become a replacement for social media, but it will be a hub. The blog component of Enlisted Records is where I can share updates on the work, I am doing whether it be piloting, writing, songwriting, or crafting boot-clocks.
