With a sweet fragrant breeze the cold temperatures of winter have been blown away and with them the grey clouds. The colors of spring arise almost everywhere and so too do the pages of Enlisted Records, which has grown to 33 pages with the buildout of the music store. To complement the already vibrant bookstore with five products, you will find 128 new products in the music store. Each is a music download of all four collections of Army Recuerdos currently published songs.
The three albums in each collection have their own pages where you can browse and stream the songs before buying them. They are represented by uniquely designed slide images that are attached to the song. In fact, these slides are the same used to create the music NFT with attributes and colors specific to the song elements making each of them different with their own rare characteristics.
Looking at the song slides you might be reminded of the old photography film slides if you’re as old as me. These song slides are a portrait of the song they are attached to. The portraits look as if they were made through a contact sheet process using layers of shapes and colors. Each shape and color holds a clue as to what you will hear in the song. For example, a ruler below each portrait signifies length but its color tells something about that length. So too does the colors of the treble cleff, and the quarter note. Other colors have no meaning except to compliment the slides theme.
In the top left corner of the slides there is a shape describing each album. Other shapes indicate what instruments are used in the song, some have guitars which are colored by the type of guitar, some have microphones to indicate lyrics or vocals, some do not.
The frame shape distinguishes the sacred or secular genre of the music. An inner frame of a film negative indicates that there is an accompanying video link embedded in the song download metadata. The last piece of information on the slides are numbers indicating the year the album was copyrighted, not necessarily when the song was written, and the time signature of the song, ie. 4/4, 3/4, etc.
There isn’t much more to say, other than go listen! I hope that you will download your own copies of the music, that way I can see what songs you enjoy. I know they can just be streamed on the soundcloud links, which will tell me the same thing, but you may not always have access to the internet and their service may not always let me stream them for free.
I have been asked if my music is on spotify, apple music, or other music stores and the answer is no. Not because I am trying to buck the system, or make a statement about selling out either. It’s part of the art, the big picture, if you can do it all yourself then the message is your own. So welcome to the music, which you can now own. If that is important to you then I suggest you get into music NFT, but if you just want to make sure the musician gets paid I greatly appreciate your support.
