Chorus:
She was a friend. She was a guardian
She was a sister when I had none
She was a companion.

Lyrics:
Jessie, was my dogs name. She lived a long life by my side.
We got her, when I was a boy, but before I became a man, she died.

Winter, is my dogs name. One stormy night she came to us.
The neighbors moved, and left her behind, after selling off her litter of pups.
