Chorus:
Battles won and lost, but the war wages on.
Lyrics:
Weary weather brought, us the call to defend.
The first week I said, “I know this too will end.”
As the time passed, we tried to hurry through.
The faster we marched, the darker the clouds grew.
Starting to accept, the weariness within.
Quick time to double, our march had to hasten.
Rain clouds our guidon, air-assault insertion
Captured or scattered, the foe still not done in
Regrouped and rearmed, somehow got a shot in.
Nine souls in the sky, an angel has fallen.
Our troops on the ground, fight back to claim the win.
Returning back home, Less five of our brethren
Years rumble past us, waging war until peace
Our enemy’s death, renewed hostilities
Return to battle, ordered back to the fight.
The surging storm passed, we march into the night.
This time darkness passed, without taking a life.
As a new dawn arises, we stand trained with allies.
Now 20 years passed, and a new leader arises.
As we go in peace, suicide surprises,
Many do escape, but the blast claims 13 more,
Of our own dead, who will see the end to war.
Now the war is done, struggle for peace is begun.
Remember the fallen, allowed us to move on.
War’s are won and lost, but the peace is given.
